M & I went to HomeBase today mainly to look for a bedside table (crazy system there - they only deliver stuff and charge £6 for the privilege. I reckon we'll go to Argos).
Anyway, I got some wire and canes to train the Pear Tree under the Pergola. I'm going to train it in a fan. The approved method is to rig up wires which the branches will eventually be attached but initially tie the branches to canes which are themselves attached to the wires. Its kinder to the soft bark of the young branches.
