Cambridge Section: late summer update

Plums with Quinces in the background. There have been four fruits this year (a record). I have taken two to ripen at home and hopefully turn into jam.
The fruit trees are doing pretty well I reckon. There have been loads of plums (better than last year anyway), cooking apples (no surprise there) and more pears than we've seen for a while.
The potatoes did well, the tomatoes are still doing well and the runner beans are thriving. The courgettes are hanging in there and I have helped them get a reprieve from being dug up. The problem with stuff against the walls is that they need a heck of a lot of watering.

I had a go at tidying up the apple tree and compost bin area. Before:
